GEORGE BUSH GOES TO HELL
This one-act play was written for a theater festival here in NYC during the mid-2000's. It's about how George W. Bush, Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld are killed in a terrorist shooting. They end up in Hell. "W" is a weepy mess, Cheney is cursing and shouting his head off and "Rummy" wants to speak to someone in charge about the mistake that's been made. Who shows up to welcome them but President and fellow Texan Lyndon B. Johnson. The late Prez answers their questions about why all four of them are in Hell. Apparently it has to do with how the four men sold their souls - at one time in their lives - to a little company named Halliburton, which in Johnson's time was known as Root, Kellogg and Brown. It also turns out that Hell is actually a cold, dark place where there is no light or warmth. Because there is no oil. Not a drop.
After the play's premiere here in NYC, it was done in a theater festival at Kent State, Ohio. Kinda appropriate, huh?
